About
Mondays - 1-330pm EST / 7-930pm CET. MBSR is an 8 week in-person/virtual program and it was created in 1979 by Dr. John Kabat Zin. The program teaches mindfulness and mindful movement skills as a way to develop a different relationship to stress. Stress is a part of life but two decades of research have shown that MBSR can help to cultivate a greater sense of balance, happiness, and peace in your life leading to an ability to cope more effectively with both short and long-term stressors. Folks who have taken MBSR report positive improvements in physical and psychological symptoms, as well as changes in health attitudes and behaviors. Participants meet once a week (virtually in this case) for 2.5 hours to share in formal and informal practices and exercises, group discussion, and reflection; in addition to committing to a daily meditation and mindfulness practice. You will be supported throughout the entire course so don't worry if you've not done a lot of meditation or any meditation for that matter. There will also be a 5hour day of practice on a Sunday. It is required to donate to a charity, non-for-profit or other kind of organization to attend this class. Typical MBSR courses range from 300 to 100 USD dollars. Please feel free to donate around those ranges. If your current financial situation doesn't allow for donating, please reach out privately and we will see what we can do.
